Social Work Working Group
Since 30 May 2012, a ‘Social Work’ working group has been meeting regularly at Department 11. The working group was founded by colleagues who see their theoretical and practical roots in social work. Their aim is to give social work a clearer voice within the department’s highly diverse academic staff. Furthermore, the group sought to strengthen the development of an identity and ethos for social work at the department, as well as to create a forum for discussion on issues relating to social work. A group (Markus Kaufmann, Gunda Sandmeir, Gerd Stecklina) came together to take charge of the organisational aspects. Around 15 committed colleagues were recruited to participate in the working group, and they continue to meet 3–4 times per semester to this day.
