Collaborations with the clinical sector
Innovative design and further development of professional practice and academic study require collaboration between practitioners and academics. Through our partnerships, we work together to shape this endeavour, to which we each contribute different knowledge and skills, whilst sharing joint responsibility.
Thebachelor's degree programme in Applied Nursing Science boasts a diverse and ever-growing network of practice partners, who, since 2024, have also been providing placements with a monthly stipend for students on the programme. Through these partnerships with healthcare providers and the programme’s high practical component of 2,300 hours, we are able to give students first-hand experience of the full spectrum of nursing care – from infants to elderly people with somatic and/or psychiatric conditions, ranging from inpatient and day-care to outpatient care.

Together with the Klinikum Rechts der Isar and the kbo Isar Amper Klinikum, we are developing new care structures for community-based psychiatric nursing care, including appropriate nursing role profiles for nursing scientists holding bachelor's and master's degrees. Furthermore, implementation strategies are being developed for attractive, forward-looking role profiles in the inpatient sector for this target group, with pay grading in line with collective agreements.

As part of the internship required of students on the bachelor's degree programme in ‘Early Years Education and Care’, there is collaboration with various childcare providers (including international ones), early intervention centres, the City of Munich (RBS), other district offices, as well as specialist academies, child protection agencies and further education institutions. We also engage in content-related collaborations with the Bavarian specialist academies for social pedagogy, individual childcare centres and their management teams, specialist municipal departments, and independent providers; these collaborations focus, for example, on poverty-sensitive professional practice. We are constantly maintaining and expanding our alumni network.

In collaboration with the Munich-Land District Youth Council and Schule im Aufbruch Bayern, the ‘Ganztag_Bildung_Zukunft’ initiative supports the Transformation of local authorities and schools in the district towards BNE-oriented educational networks, with the aim of rethinking education from a multi-perspective approach. The focus is on the needs of children and young people, so that education empowers them to shape a world worth living in.
