Ageing Lab
The Ageing Lab aims to illustrate human ageing processes across various studies. It distinguishes between optimal, pathological and normal forms of ageing and uses simulation techniques to make these concepts accessible. With the help of digital and physical ageing simulations, changes in motor function, sensory perception and emotional responses associated with ageing can be experienced and made tangible even for young people. In addition, there is an online dialogue system developed by the laboratory director, which provides information on cognitive changes associated with ageing. Furthermore, film material and therapeutic tools from various research projects are available, offering insights into biographical work, counselling for older people and various communication aids for highly vulnerable older people and their relatives. The Ageing Lab facilitates a close integration of theory and practice and highlights the potential in Applied Research and teaching.
