KonTEXT Culture Lab
KE 025
At the KonTEXT Culture Lab, the name says it all: in this cultural and social laboratory, new contexts are constantly being created for open exchange in an inspiring setting, transcending the boundaries of degree programmes and courses, so that people can work openly and creatively and engage in dialogue.
As a venue for cultural education and dialogue between students, lecturers and staff members at Hochschule München, as well as the general public, the KonTEXT Culture Lab provides a space for student initiatives and project ideas. In keeping with the concept of ‘service learning’, student engagement is combined here with subject-specific learning in an academic context, whilst maximising the benefits for all visitors to the Culture Lab. These cultural projects – such as readings, exhibitions, workshops and music events – can take a wide variety of forms, ranging from art and media projects to presentations or discussion groups of all kinds. What is socially relevant and should therefore be addressed here is derived from the students’ initiatives and experiences gained through the KonTEXT reading project.
We are also keen to support projects that incorporate other initiatives from outside the university into their programme, or that are designed with and for people from marginalised groups. In this way, by contextualising different life experiences, an exchange can take place even beyond the boundaries of the university.
