The programme is academically feasible for study on a part-time basis. The flexibility in terms of time and location offered by this online programme allows you to study at university whilst working. Online self-study accounts for approximately 75 per cent of the total study time, whilst supplementary face-to-face sessions at Hochschule München take up approximately 25 per cent of the time (around 10 weekends per year).
The office hours are once a month on Fridays from 3.00 pm to 6.30 pm and on Saturdays from 9.00 am to 4.00 pm.
The degree programme comprises eight face-to-face modules and 23 online modules, some of which take the form of projects, as well as the Bachelor’s thesis (which counts as one module). A total of 210 credit points under the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) are earned through these modules. The standard period of study is 8 semesters.
From the fourth semester onwards, you can choose one of the following eight specialisation areas:
Social work with children and young people
Social Work in Rehabilitation
Social work in the context of generations
Social work in the context of education
Social work in the context of delinquency
Social work in the context of diversity
Social work in public social services
Social work in the context of migration and displacement
Sports social work
The following fees currently apply to the BASA-online degree programme:
A fee of 65 euros per BASA-online combined module is charged for the provision of study materials (material fees). Depending on the semester, this amounts to between 130 and 195 euros per semester.
In addition, there is a basic contribution to the Studierendenwerk => see Studierendenwerk
Please note that this information always reflects the current situation. Changes may occur as a result of ongoing adjustments.
If you wish to request academic credit transfer for credits earned elsewhere, please note the following points:
1. Browse the BASA-online module catalogue and consider which BASA-online module might be eligible for academic credit transfer. Submit an informal application to the programme co-ordinator, setting out a specific proposal as to exactly which module you would like to have recognised for academic credit transfer. Please ensure you attach your supporting documents to the application.
2. When conducting academic credit transfer for face-to-face modules, please bear in mind that, in addition to the content, these seminars play an important and essential role in fostering a sense of community within the degree programme. We strongly recommend attending them in all cases, even without receiving a mark, even if the modules have been transferred.
3. When conducting academic credit transfer without a mark, the classification ‘pass’ is awarded. For you, this means that these modules are not taken into account when calculating your overall mark. Please bear this in mind when submitting your application. As no marks can be transferred – only a ‘pass’ is recorded – the marks for your other subjects take on relatively greater significance. It often makes sense, too, to revisit material you are already familiar with in a different learning environment and take the opportunity to achieve a good or very good mark.
On the BASA-online programme, exam registration takes place automatically. You do not need to do anything else.
