„Abschied von der Nachhaltigkeit? Ist Nachhaltigkeit als normatives Ideal überholt?“
Nachhaltigkeit ist allgegenwärtig – in Politik, Wirtschaft, Wissenschaft und Alltag. Doch was bedeutet der Begriff heute noch? (Vortrag und Diskussion online und in Präsenz in englischer Sprache; English version below)
22.10.2026 14:15 - 15:45 Uhr

English Version:
“Farewell to Sustainability? Has Sustainability Outlived Its Usefulness as a Normative Ideal?”
Sustainability is everywhere – in politics, business, academia, and everyday life. But what does the term still mean today? Has its ubiquitous use weakened its semantic content and normative value? Has sustainability become an empty signifier under which almost any societal goal can be subsumed?
This online lecture and subsequent discussion will explore whether it is time to move beyond the concept of sustainability – and which normative ideals might take its place.
Everyone interested in the topic is warmly invited to join the discussion.
